An easy (again!) theme at Papercraft Star this week

Easter !!

I don't have hardly any real Easter paper, and what I have is dated.  So I thought I would just mix up some old scraps, and a card Spencer had made in the Cuttlebug.

Easy !

Come play along at Papercraft Star, and be sure to check out all the great cards from our DT this week !!

TKJ 114 - Chicks Rule !

♥♥♥♥♥

If you have a 5 year old boy in your life, like I do, you have probably heard him say
Boys Rule, Girls Drool
like I have
a hundred times while we are playing Sorry or Uno.

That is what I couldn't get out of my mind while making my card this week for The Kraft Journal

where our theme is
Chicks Rule !

So I took a little different look at Easter with my card this week.

The base of the card is the always appropriate Kraft Note Card.  I adhered some edge punched Buff Ivory Cardstock, (with a computer generated sentiment) and Old Newspaper Washi Tape.  The G45 image is framed with Brown Kraft Cardstock and adhered with pop ups.  Flowers were attached to the card using Custom Fasteners, and wrapped with Natural Hemp Cord.

Stop in and play along with us - we would LOVE TO SEE YOU this week at The Kraft Journal !!

What you don't confess

♥♥♥♥♥

Today's post entry is going over to
where their theme this week is woodgrain.

The funny thing for me about woodgrain is that it seems like it pops up so often as a filler in a cute little book, but when you try to find one of those many pages, they have disappeared !

TKJ 113 - Kraft and your favorite color !

♥♥♥♥♥

A really fun and open challenge this week at The Kraft Journal -

Your favorite color with Kraft !!

I love white with kraft the best, but since we did that combo a couple of weeks ago, I chose red as the next favorite with kraft.  I used a couple of themes here, both numbers and harlequin shapes, to tie things together.  I also included the inside, as this is a card meant for someone who needs to be reminded she is so beautiful.

The humble beginning of this card is the always useful Kraft Note Card.  Adhered to that is some design paper, stamped with harlequin shapes.  The "beautiful" Lille Tag was distressed, inked and threaded with Black Burlap Ribbon.  Another harlequin shape was added with pearls, and a Custom Fastener with another number was attached atop, bowed with Natural Hemp Cord.  The edges were inked and distressed.

I made a very simple inside, with more of the harlequin stamp, another Lille Tag, and one more numbered Custom Fastener.

The Kraft Journal has great challenges each week, and a tutorial each Wednesday.  Hope you were inspired by this card - I made it for someone very special !!

Little driving on a Saturday night

♥♥♥♥♥

A wet and gloomy day here in Oregon, just the kind of day to stay inside in your slippers.  However, a 40% off coupon appeared in my inbox today for our Ben Franklin's down the street - cannot let that rest for longer than an hour, right ?

Today's post is for a couple of challenges ...

TKJ 112 - Lucky Green !

♥♥♥♥♥

At The Kraft Journal this week our theme is

Lucky Green !

I am not so lucky at bingo, how about you ...

I made this card as a Random Act of Kindness for St. Paddy's Day.  Inside is a lottery ticket for a stranger, delivered to them by a waitress, sworn to secrecy.
I began with a Kraft Blank Note Card.  I adhered some punched design paper, and a Bingo card, which is actually a Lost and Found Salvage Sticker.  Atop that is a Schedule Card from the Identity Card Set, with Lucky U spelled out from the Hodgepodge Magpie Stickers and popped up. Natural Hemp cord is threaded through the shamrock buttons, and used as a bow on the bingo charm.  This is truly a 10 minute card !  Stop by this week and play along !

I love LOVE the theme this week at

Use your own kitchen colors !

Here is a pic of my kitchen ...

I couldn't find the right color of green in my paper so I went with something pretty close ...

It would have been a five minute card if I hadn't searched through all my paper for that color green !

Come play at Papercraft Star this week, and show us your kitchen !!

March tutorial

♥♥♥♥♥

Hi Everyone ! This month's tutorial for The Kraft Journal is here !  We are fancying up a TH memo pin, into a glitter stick pin.

The items you will need are:

Tape
Diamond Glaze
Glitter (I used Martha's coarse white)
Tim Holtz memo pin (from Kraft Outlet)

I worked on a little plastic dish I could lift away from my work table, so as not to disturb the little pin.

First, tape the back of the pin, like this

Add some Diamond Glaze in the middle.  It will probably "over fill", but you can always break that part off easily once it is dry.

Add a pinch of glitter.  And now comes the HARD part !  Put your dish away, and forget about it until tomorrow.  It dries slowly because it is in such a glob.  I know you will want to touch it, I know you will.  But RESIST!

Pull off the tape tomorrow, and this is how your little pin will look.  Isn't it so cute !  And only about 3 or 4 minutes of time.

Another tip is to keep all of your stick pins on a piece of foam.  This piece is recycled, an old piece from a set of brads.  I can see them easily, and of course now that they "stick" in my mind,  I remember to use them !
